Getting started
How do I start?
OGC Open is free and runs in your browser – no download, no installation. Play now at the top right takes you straight to the game.
Under New Account you enter your email address, a player name and a password. Below the name field you find free name suggestions: one click takes one, the button with the arrows fetches new ones. Generate next to the password field creates a secure password – note it down or let your browser save it.
Accept the terms and the privacy policy and click Create Account. Your first round in Helsingborg starts right away, and a coach shows you the first shots.
Do I have to confirm my email address?
You can play right away, without confirming. After signing up you get a mail with an activation link that is valid for 14 days.
As long as your address is not confirmed, you cannot chat, found a team, buy OGC Coins, send messages to other players or report anyone. In rankings your name is hidden.
No mail? Check your spam folder. Under My Account → Email you can correct a wrong address and send the activation mail again. Players who reach level 6 and have been playing for at least seven days are confirmed automatically.
Which player names are allowed?
A name has 3 to 30 characters, starts with a letter and does not end with a space. Allowed are the letters A–Z (no accented letters), digits, spaces and the characters + * # . _ -.
At most 4 capital letters, at most 4 spaces and special characters and at most 6 digits are allowed.
When names are compared, neither upper and lower case nor special characters count – “Jo-hn” and “john” are the same name. A name must not match an existing player or team name and must not contain a blocked word.
Tip: the name suggestions below the name field are always free.
Playing golf
How do I start a round?
In the Play tab you choose the region and the course on the left. The tiles show the number of holes, the par, the experience points and Dollar for a round at par, the tournament reward and its cycle. The tournament standings are on the right.
Start Practice costs the green fee shown, in Dollar; in Helsingborg it is free. Then you decide: Play now starts the round on your own, Play group looks for other players to play together.
How does a shot work?
You hit the ball with the swing bar at the bottom centre, in three clicks:
- The first click starts the swing, and the power bar fills up.
- The second click sets the power. Above 100 % the ball goes further, but it picks up slice.
- The third click sets the accuracy: the closer to the middle of the green zone, the straighter the ball flies.
With the ball at the bottom right you pick the point of impact and so change spin and height. There is no time limit for a shot.
How do I aim?
The white arrow on the course is your target; at the start of each hole it points at the flag. Drag it with the mouse to turn the direction of your shot.
Clicking the arrow opens a free view of the course. There, a click on the course sets your target, and the game shows distance, surface and difference in height. Return to address takes you back to the ball. The map at the bottom right shows the whole hole from above.
How do I choose club and stroke type?
Your bag holds 13 clubs, and the game picks one that suits the distance. At the bottom left you see the club and its maximum range; click it to open the bag and choose another one.
With irons and wedges, three stroke types appear next to it: Full, Pitch with half and Chip with a quarter of the range – handy for short shots to the green.
How do I putt?
On the green the game takes the putter automatically. The grid over the green shows the slope – aim a little uphill if the ball will break sideways. You putt with the same three clicks as every other shot.
Where do I see my scorecard?
Click … next to “Stroke count” to open the scorecard: hole, length, par, your strokes per hole and your score against par. On 18-hole courses you switch with First 9 and Last 9.
After each hole the scorecard appears by itself; Continue takes you to the next hole.
Can I pause or quit a round?
Yes. Your round is kept, even if you close the game. The main menu then shows the Current Game tab:
- Resume Round – back to the ball
- Skip Hole – the hole counts with three times its par and gives no reward
- Quit Course – the round ends
- Continue Alone – in group play only
Tournaments, world ranking and season
How do tournaments work?
Every course except Helsingborg has its own tournament. It runs in fixed cycles: daily on courses with 6 holes, weekly on courses with 9 or 18 holes.
First you have to qualify: play a practice round with no more strokes over par than the qualification asks for. That pays 20 OGC Coins once and unlocks Start Tournament.
You pay the tournament fee in Dollar; from the second try in the same cycle it costs a little more. You can play as often as you like – your best round counts.
When the cycle ends, you get rank points for the world ranking and OGC Coins by placement: the winner gets the maximum shown for the course, everyone else a graded share. On the right of the course selection you see the current standings and the last cycles.
What is the world ranking?
All rank points you win in tournaments during a season add up. The world ranking shows them for the whole world, for each region and for each course – switchable between Solo and Team.
On the right, Your standing shows your world rank, below it My tournaments and the tournaments you can qualify for next. My position jumps to you in the list.
What is a season?
A season lasts two months and changes on the 1st of January, March, May, July, September and November. A tournament cycle that runs across the change already counts for the new season.
At the end of a season the ten best players of the world ranking receive packages of consumables, and so does every member of the ten best teams. Then all rank points and season records start again at zero.
You keep your level, equipment, Dollar, OGC Coins and all-time records.
What is a course record?
Each course has two records. The season record is the best round of the current season and starts over with each season.
The all-time record counts across all seasons. On a tie, whoever played the score first keeps it. The game announces a new record right away; an all-time record also arrives as a message in your inbox.
Level, training and equipment
How do I level up?
Every round earns experience points; how many a course gives for a round at par is shown on its tile. The bar at the top shows your progress to the next level. The highest level is 30.
Each level-up gives you 2 training points and 25 OGC Coins, on some levels a consumable as a gift as well. New courses, regions and store items also become available.
From level 3 you can write in the lobby chat, from level 4 you can found a team and buy OGC Coins.
How do I improve my skills?
Your golfer has four skills: Driver, Wood, Iron and Wedges. Higher values mean more distance, less slice and a wider green zone in the swing bar.
In the Training tab you pick a skill and train it: each step adds +5 and costs one training point plus OGC Coins – 5 at first, up to 50 at high values. No skill may be more than 30 above your weakest one.
Reset all skills gives your training points back so you can spend them again. The first reset is free, after that it costs OGC Coins.
How do I unlock new courses and regions?
OGC Open has 14 courses in four regions: Europe, Southeast Asia, Canada and the USA. New courses and regions unlock by level only – in Europe from level 1 to 5, Southeast Asia from level 6, Canada from level 11 and Las Vegas from level 17.
The course selection shows which level a course needs, and the career news tell you when a new course is open.
How do I equip my golfer?
In the Equipment tab you see your golfer on the left with slots for cap, shirt, pants, shoes, drinks, snacks, golf balls and clubs, your inventory in the middle and the store on the right with Golf Gear, Clothes and Consumable.
You buy items with OGC Coins; some only from a certain level. You keep golf gear and clothes. Consumables such as golf balls, drinks and snacks go into your golfer’s slots, and one of each is used up automatically per round.
Dollar and OGC Coins
What are Dollar?
You earn Dollar with every hole you play and every round you finish – the course tile shows how many. You need them for green fees and tournament fees. Store items do not cost Dollar.
What are OGC Coins?
OGC Coins are the second currency. You get them for every level-up, for tournament qualifications and for placements in tournaments. You need them for store items and for training.
In the Buy OGC Coins tab you can buy packages via PayPal, from €1.99 to €249.99 – bigger packages with a bigger bonus. Buying is possible from level 4 with a confirmed email address.
Can I exchange OGC Coins for Dollar?
Yes, under Equipment → Exchange Dollar. One OGC Coin gives 5 Dollar. Dollar cannot be exchanged back.
Teams
What does a team give me?
In a team you also play for a place in the team world ranking. For each tournament cycle the five best results of the members count for the team; you keep your own rank points as well.
On top you get a team chat and the team notice, where team leaders leave messages for everyone.
How do I found a team?
In the My Team tab you enter a name and click Create Team. It is free and possible from level 4 with a confirmed email address. Team names follow the same rules as player names.
You are then team leader and can choose the team icon.
How do I invite players, and what can team leaders do?
Team leaders invite new members with Invite Player. An invitation is valid for seven days; the player accepts or declines it in the My Team tab.
A team can have several leaders. They promote other leaders, remove members, change the team icon and write the notice. Only support can change the team name.
With Set My Status every member shows the others a short status line.
How do I leave a team?
With Leave team, at any time. As a team leader you can also just step down with Resign as leader and stay a member.
If no leader is left, the member who has been in the team longest and was active in the last 14 days takes over. A leader who has not been online for 60 days becomes a member automatically. When the last member leaves, the team is dissolved.
Tournament results count for the team you are in when the cycle is settled.
Where do I see the team world ranking?
In the World Ranking with the Team switch – like for players, for the world, each region and each course. My team jumps to your team. You also find all teams under Community → Teams.

Your account is deleted 14 days after the request. Until then you can restore it by logging in.
Chat, muting and reporting

If someone bothers you, mute them; you find the list in the chat under Muted Players. Report insults, spam and inappropriate names in the chat, in the player profile (Report name) or in the team list (Report team name). Reporting is possible from level 10.
I cannot log in
Check your player name and password; the password is case-sensitive. Instead of your name you can also enter your email address.
Forgot your password? Click Forgot password? below the password field and enter your email address. You get a link to set a new password; it is valid for one day and works once. After three such mails you have to wait a while before you can request the next one.
If your account is locked, support will help you.
