Dear Golf Community,
a new update is live in the game as of today. It brings more structure to your teams and some relief for everyone whose ball ends up in the bushes. We also want to show you what we are working on right now.
Three roles in your team: Owner, Leader and Member
Until now a team only had leaders and members. Now there are three roles:
- Owner – may do everything: promote members to Leader, make a leader an owner or move them back to member, remove leaders and change the team crest. A team can have several owners, and they all have equal rights.
- Leader – helps to run the team: invites players, removes members, decides on join requests, writes the team notice and sees the team history.
- Member – plays along, sets their own status and earns points for the team.
Important: Everyone who was a leader until now is an Owner now – nobody loses any rights. The new Leader role starts out empty, and owners can hand it out step by step. Promotions always go up one level at a time.
Join requests are new as well: Under Community › Teams every team has a Request to join button. Owners and leaders accept or decline your request. A team that is not looking for new players right now can also close itself to requests.
Ball in the bushes? Now you can drop it
If your ball lies unplayable in the bushes or under a tree, the game now tells you and asks: Drop the ball? You can play it as it lies, as before, or drop it with one penalty stroke – to the side, not nearer the hole. You choose the direction and the distance yourself, and a marker on the course shows you where the ball will go. Depending on the lie there are more options, such as going back to where you played from.
Course by course: For the game to know whether a ball lies in the bushes, every course has to be prepared for it. Saigon City Cycle is the first. The other courses will follow one after another – we will let you know whenever a new one is added.
Coming up: trees and bushes that stop the ball
As the next step we are working on collision with vegetation: trees and bushes will be able to stop or deflect the ball in flight – just like on a real golf course. This changes the game noticeably, so we are taking it carefully: collision will first come as an optional test on selected courses only. During the test phase you decide for every round whether you want to play with or without collision. That way you can try it out in peace, separately from the tournaments. Only once it has proven itself will we extend it step by step.
A new look for our courses – starting in Asia
At the same time we are reworking our courses. The courses in Asia come first: Phuket Golf Resort, Hongkong Royal Golf Club and Borneo Wildlife Resort get their own grasses, bushes and flowers. The planting becomes more natural and lighter, and every course should have a character of its own instead of the same plants repeating everywhere. The picture above shows Phuket as a work in progress. The other regions will follow.
GO DIRECTLY TO THE GAME HERE!If you don't see the new features yet, reload the game once. As always, your feedback is very welcome – especially on dropping, and later on collision, your reports help us a lot. Enjoy the Christmas Season!
