Dear Golf Community,
a bug had crept into the way tournaments were settled for the team ranking. We have tracked it down, and it is fixed as of today.
What happened? As you know, only the best 5 results of a team count towards the team ranking in any given tournament. However, the settlement does not process the whole field in one go – it works through it in several batches, and the „best 5“ limit was applied to every batch separately instead of once to the entire field. Teams that entered one tournament with many members could therefore end up with more than five results counted.
Your personal results were never affected. World ranking points, coins, trophies and scorecards are correct – the bug only ever touched the points a tournament contributed to the team ranking.
What happens next? Every tournament settled from now on follows the correct rule again. As a next step we will take a closer look at the effect on the existing team ranking: how many tournaments were affected, how large the actual shifts are, and whether correcting the standings is worthwhile. We will report back here as soon as we have a clear picture – until then we ask for a little patience and will leave the current table untouched.
Many thanks to everyone who pointed out oddities in the team ranking – feedback like that is exactly what helps us find issues like this one.
As always, you will find the details on team scoring in our FAQ.
