Dear Golf Community,
on September 12 we told you about the bug in the team ranking and promised to look closely at its effect on the current standings. We have now done exactly that – tournament by tournament, for every single cycle. Here are the results and our decision.
What we found: The bug affected 85 tournament cycles, all of them in the current Fall Season. One correction to our first news: the fix was only active for tournaments settled after the evening of September 13, not from September 12. In total, eight teams received about 62,000 team points too many – mainly large teams that entered many tournaments with many members. Smaller teams were hardly affected, and personal results, world ranking points, coins and trophies were never affected.
What we will do – and what we won't: We will not change any points in the middle of the season. All teams have played and planned on the basis of the table they see. Also, players who switch teams take their earlier results with them, so for some teams the original assignment can no longer be reconstructed down to the last point. Instead:
- Rewards by the better position: At the end of the season, every team receives the team season rewards of the better of its two positions – in the official table or in the table without the bug. Nobody loses anything; teams that would place higher without the bug receive the difference in addition.
- Full transparency: We publish the table without the bug here, today as a snapshot and again with the final standings at the end of the season.

All other teams were not affected. Places 2 to 4 are only about 1,000 points apart – wherever team changes left room for doubt, we decided in favour of the team. Since the season is still running, the standings will keep changing; the number of points each team received too many stays fixed.
